The Skerries

A stretch of water between Dartmouth and Start point on the South Devon coast within Start Bay.  This area is ideal for plaice fishing due to its natural sandbank.  The area is protected from commercial fishing, leaving some very good fish stocks.

Start Bay, Devon

Here's some pics of the trips during 2004 while the boat has been moored in Brixham.  One trip included seeing a some Porpoises just outside Dartmouth and also a pilot whale during some fog (now that really did makes us jump!).

That's it for the Skerries for 2004, may be more soon.  Total Plaice was 113 and look at that last thumbnail, a Sole caught during the day on lug/squid on a line.  That just topped off our Skerries trips.
